It really depends what our coaches think of Sakho. Do they think he's the second coming, or just running really hot? I suspect the latter. In which case you might be sellling Liverpool an overpriced player on hot form who might never trouble their first team. Sometimes it will be right to sell at a certain price, and sometimes better to hold onto a player. I think for the reasons you say it may be right to hold onto Sakho in January (if his form holds) but better to sell in the Summer.

Negative messages none of us should give a shit about - the club should do the right thing, even if unpopular, if it improves us. I agree changing players is always a gamble, but in the modern game you have to accept that many players are at a club for a couple of seasons before their value drops towards a Bosman £0. That's just the modern game.
